Dr. Schell uses minimally invasive surgical techniques for over 90% of patients with
ReplyDeletepain syndromes secondary to acute disc disease. For patients who previously had no
hope for pain relief for osteoporotic compression fractures, Dr. Schell uses the
three dimensional CT reconstructive techniques with balloon kyphoplasty. Dr. Schell
performed the first artificial lumbar disc surgery in the state of Michigan, and both
he and Dr. Field are currently playing a leading international role in the experimental
development of single-level and two-level artificial discs for cervical disk problems.
